Take the Ferry to Fernandina Shrimp Festival

Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp festival is one of Amelia Island’s largest and most popular events. The three day long festival brings an eclectic gathering of shrimpers, swashbucklers, and pirates to Amelia, for seafood, fun and festivities.

The party starts already on thursday with pirate parade. Then on friday the festival officially opens with a pirate invasion and fireworks.

More than 300 fine arts, crafts and antiques vendors will display their wares on Saturday and Sunday, About 150,000 shrimp lovers will flood the historic downtown of Fernandina Beach for the 46th Annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival, May first thru May 3rd.

There is park and ride parking for about $10 per vehicle. The best option is to take the Cumberland Sound ferry boat across the river.
