Did you know that…
- Every 8 minutes someone in our community needs a blood transfusion.
- We need 350 pints of blood a day to meet the needs of our community hospitals. That’s a lot.
- One pint of blood can be separated into red blood cells, platelets, and plasma, and can save up to three lives.
Sixty percent of the population is eligible to donate blood, yet only 5% of eligible donors do (3% of the entire population).
The Georgia-Florida Blood Alliance provides every drop of blood to our local hospitals and those who are in need, and now they need your help.
On July 6, 2009 between the hours of 12PM and 2PM the Kingsland Welcome Center will be hosting a blood drive.
